I don't think a holocaust could ever happen in the United States because our nation is equal. The US is not a communist nation, we are far too smart and too diverse to let that happen. If the people of the US had no say in what went on and we just had to listen to somebody tell us what to do, and put us through hell to better himself, I believe that many people would try to get rid of him either by killing him or overpowering him. The US is too strong to have one person dictating it, 'Merica.

In 1994 Rwanda's population was divided into 3 seperate groups. Hutu(85%) Tutsi(14%) and Twa(1%). the Hutu's mainly blamed the tutsi's for all of Rwanda's political, social, and econamilcal pressures. On April 6,1994 carrying Rwanda's president was shot down killing him and all passengers aboard the plane. The violence began immediately after that, Hutu extremists planed to destroy the entire Tutsi population. Many civilians in Rwanda were murdered because the refused to participate in the killings. The genocide ended when the Tutsi-dominated rebel group, the RPF, defeated the Hutu perpetrator regime, and President Paul Kagame took control.

on Wednesday in English class we took a Holocaust pre-test, while taking the test I realized just how lucky I am to be in America and be free. Watching the interview with Oprah and Ellie made me think about how much people take many things for granted. What struck me the most was when Ellie started talking about his family got separated. I couldnt imagine being separated from my family while being that young. For a while it was just Ellie and his father, then his father died and Ellie had noone. It makes my very sad when I think about that becasue it reminds me of my little brother and it is extremely difficult to imagine what would happen to my family if we were in the holocaust. I am really looking forward to reading the book Night, I want to learn much more about Ellie's journey through the Holocaust and how he pushed himself to not give up even when he was all alone.

As a sophomore girl in highschool, I really enjoy reading realistic fiction books. I enjoy reading these books because I can actually get interested in them, and I actually like reading them. It's safe to say that they are my favorite genre. The books I can not stand to read are informational books. I loose interest very fast. The book I am reading right now is called "The Running Dream" it was written by Wendlin VAn Draanen. It is about a Highschool junior, named Jessica. Jessica loves running track. After setting a new state record in the 400 meter dash, Jessica and everyone else on the team were celebrating their overall victory when they were struck by an uninsured truck driver. One runner lost her life and another lost her leg. But it just so happens that girl who just set a new state record in HER race was the one who lost her leg. After the accident Jessica has absolutely no idea what she is going to do, runing was her life. Her family struggles with insurance bills, and Jessica feels like her life has no meaning. As of now this is all tht has happened in the book, but I really reccomend everyone to read this book i can already tell it will have a great ending!

This is a very well put together paragraph. I'm also doing using the Rwandan genocide for my essay. I agree with what you're saying, it is really sad that people can't be who they are or do things they like without getting judged or in this case killed.
